York's popular Theatre Royal has received a lifeline boost from the Governments £1.57 billion Culture Recover Fund. York initiatives support businesses following further store closures
The Edinburgh Woollen Mill Company announced store closures on Friday, one of a dozen store closures in York. However, both Indie York and York BID initiates have been created to help support local businesses. The EWM company, who also own Jaegar, with stores located on Shambles and in St Helens Square face uncertainty, as the EMW chief executive Steven Simpson gave a statement. New Covid testing centre open in York
A further 109 coronavirus cases in York were confirmed over the weekend, following reports of a technical issue creating artificially high figures nationally. This led to delays within the transfer of positive cases to Public Health England between 25th September and 2nd October. The Government has said that the data issue has been resolved.
