Mae Muller has been chosen to represent the UK at this year’s Eurovision song contest. The 25-year-old will sing her own track ‘I Wrote a Song’.

This year the competition is being held at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool.

Muller has big shoes to fill following UK’s 2022 contestant, Sam Ryder coming second with his song ‘Space Man’ and redeeming the UK’s record after years of low scores.

Ukraine won Eurovision 2022 but the country is unable to host the contest this year due to the ongoing war with Russia. As the UK came second they took on the role of being host this year.

The same selection process was used as last year – the BBC worked with music management company, TaP Music.

Tickets for the live shows went on sale on Tuesday and have already sold out. Unfortunately for those who did not get tickets in time, the official Eurovision page have stated that: “No further ticket sales are foreseen at the current time.”

The first semi-final will take place on May 9th, the second on May 11th and the grand final on May 13th.
