As of December first, businesses across York are taking part in a Advent Calendar themed competition. Each day a different business will reveal a festive window display. So far the businesses that have been featured include: Cuffs & Co, Make it York and Ambient Tapas.
Today’s 7th reveal took place at York’s Chocolate Story, who also entered the competition last year.
Ben Rosenfield was in charge of the display in the store and explained to us what made them want to join in the competition: “We really enjoyed doing it last year and it seems like it was really successful, not just with the businesses involved but also for York as a whole”.
Before the reveal, the street was thoroughly busy with passers-by showing a lot of intrigue towards the Christmas-wrapped window; Santa and Tinsel the elf also received a lot of admiration from the young children with some even stopping by to take some photograph. Situated next to the Christmas Carousel and fair rides, it was the perfect location for a Christmas Reveal.
The reveal took place outside the shop and cafe window in Kings’ Square and was revealed by Santa and his elf, Tinsel.
Other businesses also to be featured in coming days include Jorvik Viking Centre, Browns of York and Bill’s restaurant.
The festive competition begun on December 1st and will run until Christmas Day. The vote will then take place online on Boxing Day and will close on January 5th. The winning business will receive £1000 to be donated to a charity of their choice.
