The global food phenomenon that has put the humble Yorkshire pudding on the culinary map

The York Roast Co have created a new global food phenomenon. It is called the Yorkypud . It consists of a flattened Yorkshire pudding stuffed with, a Sunday roast meat – ham, turkey and beef are some of the options available. The wrap also includes stuffing, vegetables and thick gravy.  There have been queues  snaking round Low Petergate in York and the wrap has proved a resounding success. York Roast Co manager Wayne Chadwich said they have been selling the wraps since March, but a video of them went viral on social media and since then, the demand and queue’s have grown for the tasty Yorkshire snack making it famous worldwide.

“We have been on American, Canadian and Australian television and we have also featured on Radio One with Nick Grimshaw who ate one live on air,” Mr Chadwich. The company has just launched a Christmas special which includes red cabbage marinated in mulled cranberry, chestnut stuffing and turkey.
