Lucia’s Restaurant Review

Lucia Restaurant

Located in the centre of York, just a stones throw away from the Minster, Lucia’s offers a dining experience that blends classic elegance with modern innovation.

The building itself is located on a quiet side street, just far enough away from the crowds. Offering a heated cosy outdoor seating area, it creates the perfect Italian Al freseo aesthetic. The restaurant even provides blankets incase it gets chilly.

The atmosphere is striking. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in refined excellence, with its bright pink theme and soft lighting creating an intimate eating environment.

The menus are carefully crafted to offer plenty of choice, making it great for fussier eaters. Dedicated a la carte, lunch, vegan, gluten free and Sunday Roast menus cater to all tastes ranging from typical classical Italian pasta and risotto dishes to an extensive Pesce and Carne selection.

The all day “Bottomless Brunch” menu is sure to be popular with the younger set with 90 minutes of free flowing drinks and two Italian courses to select from pasta, pizza and salad.

Away from the bottomless brunch there is an extensive cocktail menu, with a separate spritz menu to add some fizz to the proceedings. Lucia’s even has their own cocktail called Paradise in Yorkshire, a mix of mango, passionfruit, cranberry and apple juice, the perfect drink for a warm York summer’s day.

Starting with the anti pasti menu, the spiced Italian meatballs are difficult to ignore whilst antipasto provided a generous selection of cured meats, cheese, olives and sun-dried tomatoes.

For the main course, the Steak Alfredo was a standout. Cooked to perfection with flavourful meat, which was complemented by the creamy Alfredo sauce. The wild foraged mushrooms add to the overall taste of the meal, making it one not to forget.

The dessert menu sets out a fantastic selection prepared by the in house pastry chef including a classic tiramisu (of course) the obligatory gelato and sorbet and a wonderful baileys chocolate ganache and refreshing berries.

Overall, Lucia’s is a massive success. With friendly service, attentive staff and clearly a passion for Italian inspired food. Lucia’s is the memorable meal that you’ve been looking for.
