Yorkshire Rams Recruitment Heats Up As The New Season Edges Closer

After the buzz of the Superbowl the American football season brings itself to a halt but the European season is just getting started.

Up and down the continent teams will be recruiting for the upcoming BAFA season. The Rams are one of four teams representing the Yorkshire region in the sport.

A 6-2 record last season and an incredible playoff run led the Rams to a game away from the Division One national title game where they met the Nottingham Caesars. A 21-10 loss followed and the club entered another off season of rotating personnel.

Highlights of the off season recruitment for the Rams is the addition of former North Texas Mean Green lineman and assistant Jim Rea as the clubs offensive line coach, he comes through the door with a wealth of football experience to share with the 2025 Rams.

Following Jim through the door is a trio of former/current York St. John’s Jaguars including current receivers coach and record touchdown scorer for the Jaguars Matty Blackstock who is expected to play wide receiver for the Rams.

Alongside Matty, standout linebacker Michael Bushnell and wide receiver Theo Sandow, who both have wrapped up impressive seasons with the Jags in early January, have been signed to the active roster.

The final addition for the Rams is actually a welcome back to former Rams lineman Hussnain Chaudary after spending a season in the German football leagues with the Hildesheim Invaders he makes a return to help the Rams efforts of winning the BAFA this spring.
