Police are appealing for information for a collision that occurred between two vehicles resulting in one fatality that occurred last night in the Yorkshire Dales.

The incident happened at around 2.40pm on a Sunday night on the B6265 just outside Hawes and resulted in a death.

The fatality was a 54-year-old man from York, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision involved a blue Renault Capture car which was traveling from Aysgarth towards Ribblehead, where a black Triumph Speed Triple motorcycle was travelling in the opposite side.

Both vehicles collided with each other and the Renault Capture driver is assisting the police.

The police are appealing for any witnesses or dash cam footage which may have caught footage of the collision or the vehicles beforehand, “and anyone who witnessed either if they have not yet spoken to us.”
