Following an incredibly strong solar storm, the UK’s sky has been beautifully lit up.
Over the weekend many people had the chance to see the Northern Lights in the UK on their doorstep.
Following a geomagnetic storm that made the conditions perfect for the sky to be filled with colour.
This marked the strongest geomagnetic storm since 2003.
Blackouts of power could stem from this display as the geomagnetic current can be harmful, this is from the severe solar storms,
Pink, purple, green and blue auras and hues filled the sky.

With northern territory such as Scotland having the highest chance for the clearest view.
However, parts of the south also had a chance of getting a glimpse of the northern lights.
The sight swarmed social media with people taking to X to post their images.
People who had missed the phenomenon also expressed this through memes and comments.
For those who did miss them, the light pollution of different cities had a huge part to play. With more polluted cities having a lower chance.
This is not a common occasion however, so to see these Northern Lights again, the best option would be to visit the Nordic countries, assuming that the conditions are right.
