An entertaining first 45 minutes saw four first-half goals. Salford were ahead as early as the fifth minute when Callum Hendry rose to meet Luke Garbutt’s corner and headed into the back of the net.

Harrogate Town made the game level in their first real effort in the 27th minute as Abraham Odoh had a relaxed shot past Alex Cairns into the goal from 18 yards out.

The visitor’s joy was short-lived as a striking volley from the box by Ryan Watson restored Salford and put them in the lead just six minutes later.

Harrogate Town came together one more time in the first half during injury time when Matty Foulds redirected the ball home with a neat flick from George Thomson’s corner making the game 2-2.

Both sides came into the second half in search of a winner but neither managed to do so with Josh March coming closest for Harrogate.
