York’s Viking Festival has came to a halt after days of entertainment. Their plundering has been completed and returned back home.
The Jorvik Viking Festival started on the 12th of February and finished on the 18th giving plenty of time for new Vikings to join the ranks of Eric the Red and Ivar the Boneless.
With multiple activities running over the week everyone has had a chance to have a taste of the lavish lifestyle they indulged in.
Berserker boot camps and baking in the same street and wood craft being a stones throw for a few days the time rolled back and turned York back into its ancient heritage.
Merchant Adventurers Hall was changed into a medieval market stall with everything from axes and swords to shawls and capes being on display and for sale.
DIY activities ran for everyone including making your own fossilised poo with the Vikings allowing everyone to bring their own piece of history back home.
To finish the whole Festival they had a final show and a march around York showing the regalia and traditional outfits and saying a final goodbye to the residents and the landmarks of the city.
Now the Vikings have sailed back to Valhalla ready to return next year bigger, better and more blood-lust.
