York City ladies take on fifth place Leeds United Ladies this week in what is predicted to be a thrilling Yorkshire derby for the two teams.
The Minster Belles travel away on Wednesday hoping to gain a vital three points that could boost their position in the league, bringing the ladies out of the danger zone into a more comfortable ninth place.

The previous meeting between the two sides, even though played at home for the Belles, resulted in Leeds United Ladies coming out on top with a 3-1 win disappointing the North Yorkshire side.

Two new signings to York City’s side bring a hopeful atmosphere to the club, midfielder Savanna Robson and defender Hannah Brierley.

The manager Steph Turnbull said she was “really pleased to have both players with (her) at York” highlighting the importance for quality flowing throughout the team.

Whilst the Leeds Ladies have not signed any new players over the recent weeks, one of their star performers, Jess Rousseau, has scored four goals in the last two games she’s appeared in, strengthening the danger from the Whites.
