Calling all Harry Potter fans, something magical this way comes as WizardFest is soon to arrive in York bringing with it many enchanted events.

Taking place from the 24th to the 26th of May 2025, York is going to have a range of activities all themed around the wizarding world of Harry Potter.

Bookable events such as The Wizard Walk of York, the Brick Magic Lego workshop, and make your own Lush Shoot for the Stars Bath Bomb are all taking place over WizardFest and can be booked online.

Young wizards and witches also have to opportunity to meet some magical animals such as holding owls and eagles on Monday the 26th from 10-4pm at St. Crux Churchyard, at the bottom of the Shambles.

The York Picture House Cinema is bringing back the first three Harry Potter films of the franchise to the big screen with tickets already available to book.

There is a Fancy Dress Parade with a competition for the best-dressed witch or wizard taking place at 3pm on Monday the 26th of May at St Helen’s Square with prizes to be won from The Wizard Walk, The Society of Alchemists and The Shop That Must Not Be Named.

Wizard themed food can also be found like the new Dragon Sundae at Loopy Scoops, Beastly Burger from Baby Boys Burgers at York Spark, and even Phoenix mocktails and cocktails at Ate O’Clock.

York is the perfect place for all Harry Potter fans to get into the WizardFest spirit with the famous bustling York Shambles resembling the whimsical Diagon Alley.

Along the York Shambles there are Harry Potter themed shops to complete the WizardFest experience such as The Shop That Must Not Be Named and The Potions Cauldron for any magical merchandise.
