A police helicopter was seen over York last night in aid of searching for a missing person. The first sighting of the helicopter was reported around 10pm last night and was searching around the River Ouse, Knavesmire, Hob Moor and Dringhouses area.
At 6:39am a North Yorkshire Police Officer involved with the search explained what was taking place and confirmed the person has been found safely:
For those wondering what @NPASNewcastle were doing above York tonight… they were assisting us in the search for a vulnerable missing person, clearing large open areas and the surrounding streets. Glad to report the missing person has been found safe and well! #oneteam
