Repair work to start on St Leonard’s Place

The York City Council has released a statement sharing travel advice and information regarding the repair works that are going to start on St Leonards Place on Tuesday the 27th of May.

The repairs will start from 9.30am on Tuesday 27 May. The reason behind these repairs is damage to the road surface as well as underground damage.

This work will require a lane closure and the Council estimate the repairs will take a duration of two weeks.

Due to the repairs St Leonard’s place will be closed to traffics coming from Bootham Bar, however outbound traffic from Museum Street to Gillygate will be able to access St Leonard’s Place, however pedestrian access is still accessible alone St Leonards Place.

The York City Council Executive Member for Transport, Cllr Kate Ravilious states: “We thank everyone for their patience while we carry out these urgent repairs. Our team will be carrying out repair work between the hours of 8am and 5pm on most days and no work is planned to take place later than 8pm.”
