The North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue service were called twice to reports of house fires in the early hours of Tuesday, 20 May.
However, both calls were hoaxes.
The first call came through at 12.44 a.m. with the report of an oven fire, whereas the second came through at 2.56 am with reports of a house on fire at a separate property.
Crews from Acomb and York attended both callouts.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue has confirmed they have passed the details over to the police for investigation.
North Yorkshire Fire Service warns on their website about the dangers of hoax calls as it can divert from true emergency.
They then state the consequences of hoax calls, which are a fine of up to £5000 as well as six months in prison.
