Vagabond, a band composed of three 16-year-olds currently sitting their GCSE’s, have been crowned the winners of the 2025 Jorvik Radio Battle of the Bands and are set to play at The Cavern Club on May 26.
Jorvik radio host, Jamie Morgan said: “Vagabond were absolutely deserving winners and I know they’ll be a fantastic opening act.”
The trio met through York music school, Rock God Academy and have a multitude of gigs lined up heading into the summer.
Talking to The York Press, Fin Walker, Olly Lee and Chris Barnard have said: “We intend to release some singles later in the year. We are writing lots of new original songs all the time and we expect to choose the best material to record our first album in the near future.
We are all highly motivated to become full-time musicians and take the band forward, recording and touring in our high-energy style.”

Vagabond’s single, “All That I See” won them the Jorvik Radio Battle of the Bands competition and the official song is set to be released in a few weeks along with an EP.
The group have mentioned that they take inspiration from rock classics like Pink Floyd, Kurt Cobain and Blink-182.
