A local councillor has said that the perpetrators of sexual harassment in Westminster should resign.
York independent Cllr. Johnny Hayes praised the government for its prompt response to what he described as a new development.
“If people are accepting that the things they have done are inappropriate and wrong, then it seems only right that they should resign,” he told the Yorkie when asked about the scandal.
Politicians from both parties have found themselves at the centre of allegations.
But York’s Independent councillor insisted that on a local scale, things were sound, and that he was not aware of any sort of harassment within the council.
“I’m shocked and surprised that these things have been happening,” he said.
