Here is a list of all the latest hits you need on repeat this summer.

1. A glimpse into her new album ‘Virgin’ releasing 27th June, ‘What Was That’ is a classic Lorde synth-pop anthem navigating the messy aftermath of a breakup. The electropop beat in this single is what makes it a true summer soundtrack- relatable lyrics and a beat we can all dance to.

2. Sticking with the electropop sound, ‘Illegal’ from PinkPantheress’ new mixtape ‘Fancy That’ has a fun, feel good instrumental. This dance-pop princess explores some complex feelings in her lyrics in a way that makes her listeners feel understood and uplifted rather than being engulfed in a negative mindset.

3. Grammy-winning artist Tyla is back with her new single ‘bliss’. Tyla previewed the song at Coachella last month- will ‘bliss’ be Tyla’s ‘Espresso’ shooting singer to global stardom? This Afrofusion track will no doubt be the soundtrack of the summer.

4. Sophie Ellis-Bextor is back on the dancefloor to reclaim her title as queen of disco with ‘Taste’. Innkeeping with her unique disco-pop sound, Sophie Ellis-Bextor is giving the people what they want this summer and getting us dancing again. With a single this good, the wait for her album releasing in September will be agonising- we can’t wait!

5. Talking of new albums, British rapper Little Simz’ single ‘Free’ has everyone in the summer spirit and excited for her album, ‘Lotus’, releasing 5th June. ‘Free’ is a thoughtful and touching song originally written as a poem and developed into a chilled-out hip-hop track. If rap isn’t necessarily your thing, listening to ‘Free’ might just change your mind.

6. If you liked Little Simz, you’re bound to love ‘about time’ by Loyle Carner. Leading up to the release of his album in the middle of June- yes, another album- Loyle Carner has been double releasing new songs. With a light and airy sound, ‘about time’ is a great addition to your playlist this year to chill out to after a long day in the sun.

7. ‘Telepatia’ singer Kali Uchis’ new album, ‘Sincerely,’ is leaning into the airy vibe we’re hearing from a lot of less mainstream artists at the minute. The whistful vocals and smooth bassline in ‘It’s Just Us’ from ‘Sincerely,’ is typical of Kali Uchis’ style making her a staple in everyone’s summer soundtrack- she’s been in mine for years!

8. This summer we’re getting lots of synth and disco-pop inspired hits from some of the biggest names in music. Miley Cyrus with ‘End of the World’ is giving us country-esque vocals with an incredible disco-pop beat that you can’t help but dance to. This one’s destined for the ‘on repeat’ playlist.

9. 5SOS’ Calum Hood has released ‘Call Me When You Know Better’ as a preview for his upcoming debut solo album. For all the former 5SOS fans, this one is a huge nostlagia hit with a sound reminiscent of the bands ‘Youngblood’ and ‘Calm’ eras. I’m sure we all remember the year 5SOS blew up, ‘She Looks So Perfect’ was on the radio for months on end and truly became the summer anthem of 2016.

10. Last but certainly not least, pop-king Benson Boone with ‘Mystical Magical’ has everyone in the summertime spirit. Sure to be a sing-along classic, ‘Mystical Magical’ is already stuck in my head but I have no complaints.
