Yorkshire county cricket team kicked off their season against Leeds Bradford MCCU. Yorkshire manged to win by 151 points after scoring an impressive 489-8 after all 112 overs had been played.

This win was the start of a good season for Yorkshire. After 11 games played, one of which was cancelled due to bad weather, Yorkshire have managed to win five games, drawn and lost three. Yorkshire currently stand at 3rd place in the Specsavers County Championship Division One.

Yorkshire are currently playing their final day against Kent and if they win this game, they will have added another victory to their tally. Yorkshires next league game will see Yorkshire play Surrey in Guildford at the Guildford CC. Guildford currently stand at 7th, out of 8 teams, with 11 points where as Yorkshire stand at 3rd with 32 points, so hopefully we see Yorkshire win the game and close the gap to first place as they trail by only a slight 11 points.

Vitality Blast 2019

One fixture Twenty20 fans will want to keep an eye out for is when the Yorkshire face Lancashire at the Emerald Headingway Cricket Ground in Leeds on the 25th of July. The two teams will then face again in Manchester at the Emirates Old Trafford on the 9th of August. Both games will be key in where both teams place in the Vitality Blast: North group table this year. Vitality Blast is professional Twenty20 game and it is only the second time this competition has been run with Worcester Rapids winning the title last year. Yorkshire were unfortunately knocked out of the competition by Nottingham by eight wickets with only six balls left in the game.

Lets hope that the Yorkshire Vikings can progress further in this years competition and possibly go on to win it. But anything can happen in the game of cricket so only time will tell.
