Look 1 – Going to Uni
Even though the sun is out with deadlines looming we all still need to make it to the library and final lectures. But what do you wear that’s smart yet airy and comfy.
We styled a classic little ripped denim skirt from Zara with a simple Jack Wills white tee, matched with a pair of Kurt Geiger white trainers, that means you can walk to and from uni as many time’s as you like without feeling the heat or getting those pesky blisters.
Accessories wise you need a rucksack for all you school work and of course a pair of staple sunnies. We chose a pair of brown round Celine tortoise shell glasses to bring a bit of high end fashion to our chill uni look.
Jack Wills Endmoor Boyfriend T-Shirt £20.95
Kurt Geiger Carvela Lisa trainers in white £119
Zara ripped denim mini skirt (similar) £19.99

When you’re running into uni and stressing about deadlines, the last thing you want is a full face of makeup.
The best way to achieve a polished look is to use a tinted moisturiser. It’s a product that can even out your skin tone without looking or feeling too cakey.
There are many tinted moisturisers on the market, one that will leave your skin looking glowy, comes in an array of colours and has added SPF is the one by laura mercier. There is also a oil free formula if you find your skin gets oily during the day.

Now that the sun is finally here, one important step to remember in the mornings is to apply sun care. Sun care can come in many different formulas whether it be chemical or physical but it’s important to protect your skin against the harsh rays. One product I am enjoying currently is the Dr Dennis Gross SPF 50 with UVA and UVB protection.
This also comes in a tinted version to add a bit of glow underneath your makeup. To ensure the protection lasts all day, it would be a good idea to top up your sun care.
Rather than disturbing your makeup, try a spf makeup setting spray that will protect your skin from the sun whilst refreshing your makeup and ensuring it lasts through the hot weather.
One that I would suggest is by the brand ‘Coola’. This setting spray is a spf 30 and contains cucumber and Aloe Vera to keep your skin cool whilst in the sun.
Look 5 – The Races
The races are a fun day out for everyone but when the sun is out everyone has 10 times and fun.
A cute dress suits everyone especially one in a striking colour, this strappy red dress is a perfect staple and to bring a splash of class we paired it with a black Balmain blazer and a pair of patent black heels. This look will make you feel sexy and chic.
Oh Polly on the prowl strappy cowl neck satin mini dress £40.00
Balmain Embellished wool blazer £1650
Valentino Rockstud 100 black patent leather pumps £650.00
When planning looks that you can wear to your summer barbeques or the York races, it’s essential to plan to know what makeup and accessories you intend to wear.
Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil £22
To pair with the races dress, why not add a pop of colour by wearing either a bright lip, or a bold eye.
To ensure your bold lip stays on during the day of barbeques, cocktails or a day at the races it would be an idea to opt for a formula of lipstick that will last the whole day.
An orangey red is a perfect shade for the summer months, that will brighten up your makeup look and add to your outfit. One that is a perfect addition to your makeup bag is Nars’ ‘Red Square’ velvet matte lip pencil. With it being a pencil, it’s easy to apply and the matte formula will stay put all day. If red isn’t your shade, there are many colours to choose from that will complement your outfit.
Another alternative is the NYX ‘soft matte lip crème’. The velvet formula feels like a balm on your lips but will last all day without feeling dry. Both come in a range of colours.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Crème £6
