The Street Festival Gearing Itself Up for Another Summer of Parties

The increasingly popular local street festival – held in the small melting pot of Fossgate – reached its third birthday this weekend, and had proven to be more popular than any other year during an opening weekend.

This year hails in a new addition to the street party with the incorporation of a more permanent, stylish and custom built sign-post. The steel fabrication is currently suspended between two listed buildings down the historic street, which was a task in itself for the architectural design team. Built to specification in East Hull and transported to the city; the historic implications of the sign serve as a homage to the long lost seafood market which once occupied the cobbled steps of this street.

The festival itself demonstrates the coming together of local businesses, in a locally founded and owned annual event. I had attended the festival’s first weekend and enjoyed some of the festivities on offer…
