After York’s final home game against Solihull Moors, the Minstermen broke their highest average home attendance record for over 50 years – with more than six thousand fans at each game.
Overall this was a colossal increase of 1,200 fans since last year, with performances on the pitch improving drastically, going from 20th to second within 12 months.
York have had some tremendous attendances this season for the fifth tier including over seven thousand in games such as Oldham, Hartlepool and Gateshead.
With York finishing 2nd, they are automatically granted a home tie vs Oldham Athletic which is completely sold out and is set out to be a great clash of two National League giants.
Across the whole campaign, York have had over 139,000 people go through the turnstiles at home this season, for the third season running they have managed over 100k at home throughout the season.
With performances on the pitch constantly improving, the City of York feel very optimistic with the rise of the club over the past year, thanks to Matt and Juliane Uggla for investing money into the right areas.
An idea the owners decided to introduce the Early Season Ticket which allowed fans to purchase a season ticket on discount for next season. As of the 19th of May, York have currently sold over three thousand season tickets for next season.
As for the away turnouts for York this season, they have been astonishing, the standout out game being Halifax at the Shay which they took two thousand and witnessed two added time goals to secure York a 2-1 win.
There has been a total of over 16k people travelling up and down the country this season to 23 different away games, which again for the fifth tier of football is astounding.
Even though Halifax had over two thousand away fans, there was also four other away games which included over one thousand away fans, including Barnet in London on a Tuesday night for the top of the table clash.
